MVRRA Bridge Rehabilitation – Bridges 112.00 & 112.52

Sealed bids will be received by the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority (MVRRA) at the MVRRA office, 200 S. Mill Street, Redwood Falls, MN 56283, until 3:00 P.M. (local time) Tuesday, February 13, 2024, and then will immediately be publicly opened and read aloud.

Such bids are to provide for the following approximate work for "MVRRA Bridge Rehabilitation – Bridges 112.00 & 112.52" including but not limited to the following scope of work:

Timber bridge rehabilitation & strengthening on Bridges 112.00 (87 spans) & 112.52 (40 spans) to achieve 286,000 lb. railcar loading requirements. No work is anticipated on the Main Steel Truss Span at Bridge 112.00 with the exception of timber post repairs on west pier. The Base Bid Work includes but is not limited to furnishing and installing the following: timber deck replacement, timber stringer installation, miscellaneous timber replacement, frame bent construction, bridge timber hardware, removal and disposal of treated bridge timber, site restoration, and other incidental work as indicated. Alternate A & B are provided to include various pile posting locations that may or may not be awarded with the associated Base Bid work.

Bidders must bid all items included for the Base Bid, Alternate A, & Alternate B.

PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A Pre-Bid Conference will not be held for this project. Prospective bidders may view the bridge sites by contacting Greg Graham at Office: (320) 864-7214, Cell: (612) 655-3361, or ggraham@tcwr.net at least 48 hours prior to site visit. PPE will be required and the responsibility of each prospective bidder performing the site visit.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or draft for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, such check to be certified or issued by either a State or National Bank, and payable to the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in this State and payable to the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority. The check or bond will be retained by the Minnesota Valley Regional Rail Authority as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into a contract and performance bond in accordance with the bid when notified. Bids will be on a unit price basis, and must include all applicable taxes, as indicated in the Bid Form.

The MVRRA reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any and all bids.

Bids must be mailed or hand delivered. Electronic bids will not be accepted. Bidders shall state on the left-hand corner of the envelope, "BID ENCLOSED for MVRRA Bridge Rehabilitation Project – Bridges 112.00 & 112.52”. Any bids received after the deadline will not be accepted and returned unopened.
